Ingredients
Scale
Marinade Ingredients
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2.5 tablespoons olive oil
- 0.5 teaspoon lemon zest
- 2.5 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 0.67 teaspoon salt
- 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
- 3 tablespoons fresh parsley (chopped)
Main Ingredients
- 1.5 lb large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
- 8-10 bamboo skewers (soaked in water for 10 minutes)
Instructions
- Prepare the Marinade: In a large bowl, combine the minced garlic, olive oil, lemon zest, lemon juice, honey, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well blended to form the marinade.
- Marinate the Shrimp: Add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the marinade. Toss gently to ensure each shrimp is evenly coated. Let the shrimp marinate for at least 15 minutes at room temperature, or for deeper flavor, refrigerate and marinate overnight.
- Thread the Shrimp: After marinating, thread approximately five shrimp onto each soaked bamboo skewer, making sure they fit snugly but without overcrowding for uniform cooking.
- Preheat the Cooking Surface: Depending on your chosen cooking method, preheat your BBQ grill, indoor grill, oven broiler, air fryer, or heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
- Cook the Shrimp: For grilling, place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 3 minutes per side until shrimp are pink and opaque. If broiling, place skewers on a baking sheet and broil on high for 2-3 minutes per side to achieve a charred flavor. For air frying, set the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and cook the skewers for 6-7 minutes, shaking halfway through. For pan-frying, cook shrimp skewers in hot oiled pan for 2-3 minutes per side, enjoying the sizzling sound.
- Serve: Once cooked, serve the shrimp skewers immediately with fresh lemon wedges to enhance their zesty flavor.
Notes
- Soak bamboo skewers in water before threading shrimp to prevent burning during cooking.
- Marinating overnight intensifies the flavor, but 15 minutes is sufficient for a tasty dish.
- Adjust cooking time based on shrimp size to avoid overcooking.
- Ensure skewers are not overcrowded for even heat distribution.
- Serve with fresh lemon wedges for an added citrus burst.
- Can be paired with rice, salad, or grilled vegetables for a full meal.
