Scale
Ingredients
- 4 cups fresh watermelon chunks
- 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (about 3-4 lemons)
- 2 cups cold water
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (adjust based on watermelon sweetness)
- 10 fresh mint leaves
- Ice cubes, as needed
Instructions
- Blend the Watermelon: Add the fresh watermelon chunks into a blender and blend until completely smooth to extract the fresh juice and pulp.
- Strain the Juice (optional): Pour the blended watermelon through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher if you prefer a smoother, pulp-free lemonade.
- Mix the Lemonade Base: Stir in the freshly squeezed lemon juice, cold water, and granulated sugar into the pitcher. Mix thoroughly until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Add and Muddle Mint: Add the fresh mint leaves to the pitcher and gently muddle them with a spoon to release their natural oils and infuse the lemonade with mint flavor.
- Serve: Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the watermelon mint lemonade over the top. Garnish with extra mint sprigs or small watermelon wedges for a decorative and flavorful finish.
Notes
- Adjust the sugar amount depending on the natural sweetness of your watermelon.
- For a sparkling twist, substitute some or all of the cold water with sparkling water or club soda.
- Use fresh mint leaves for the best flavor; dried mint will not provide the same freshness.
- This lemonade is best served chilled and consumed within 1-2 days for optimal freshness.
