Description

A refreshing and hydrating Watermelon Mint Lemonade made with fresh watermelon, tangy lemon juice, and fragrant mint leaves. This easy no-cook beverage is perfect for hot summer days, combining natural sweetness with a hint of citrus and cool mint, making it a delightful treat for all ages.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh watermelon chunks
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (about 3-4 lemons)
  • 2 cups cold water
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (adjust based on watermelon sweetness)
  • 10 fresh mint leaves
  • Ice cubes, as needed

Instructions

  1. Blend the Watermelon: Add the fresh watermelon chunks into a blender and blend until completely smooth to extract the fresh juice and pulp.
  2. Strain the Juice (optional): Pour the blended watermelon through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher if you prefer a smoother, pulp-free lemonade.
  3. Mix the Lemonade Base: Stir in the freshly squeezed lemon juice, cold water, and granulated sugar into the pitcher. Mix thoroughly until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  4. Add and Muddle Mint: Add the fresh mint leaves to the pitcher and gently muddle them with a spoon to release their natural oils and infuse the lemonade with mint flavor.
  5. Serve: Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the watermelon mint lemonade over the top. Garnish with extra mint sprigs or small watermelon wedges for a decorative and flavorful finish.

Notes

  • Adjust the sugar amount depending on the natural sweetness of your watermelon.
  • For a sparkling twist, substitute some or all of the cold water with sparkling water or club soda.
  • Use fresh mint leaves for the best flavor; dried mint will not provide the same freshness.
  • This lemonade is best served chilled and consumed within 1-2 days for optimal freshness.
