Description

Turkey and Cheese Pinwheels are a quick and delicious no-cook appetizer or snack featuring soft flour tortillas filled with creamy seasoned cream cheese, sliced turkey, cheese, and fresh baby spinach. These bite-sized pinwheels are perfect for parties, lunchboxes, or an easy finger food that requires minimal prep and no cooking.

Ingredients

Scale

Base

  • 4 large flour tortillas

Filling

  • 8 ounces sliced turkey breast
  • 8 ounces cheese slices (cheddar or Swiss)
  • 1 cup baby spinach or lettuce
  • ½ cup cream cheese, softened

Seasoning

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Optional Add-Ins

  • Diced bell peppers
  • Sliced cucumbers
  • Olives

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cream cheese mixture: In a small bowl, combine the softened cream cheese with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
  2. Lay tortillas flat: Place the flour tortillas flat on a clean surface or cutting board to prepare for spreading the filling.
  3. Spread the cream cheese: Evenly spread the seasoned cream cheese mixture over the surface of each tortilla, leaving about a ½-inch border around the edges to prevent overflow when rolling.
  4. Layer the fillings: On top of the cream cheese, layer slices of turkey breast, cheese, and baby spinach evenly. Add optional diced bell peppers, sliced cucumbers, or olives if desired for extra flavor and texture.
  5. Roll the tortillas: Starting from one edge, tightly roll each tortilla without tearing to form a spiral log shape.
  6. Slice into pinwheels: Using a sharp knife, cut each rolled tortilla into approximately 1-inch thick slices to create individual pinwheels.
  7. Serve or store: Arrange the pinwheels on a serving platter and serve immediately for the freshest taste, or cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Use softened cream cheese for easier spreading.
  • Choose your preferred cheese type; cheddar and Swiss both work well.
  • Wrap pinwheels tightly to keep their shape when slicing.
  • These pinwheels can be made a few hours ahead and refrigerated for convenience.
  • Feel free to add other fresh vegetables or herbs for varied flavors.
