  1. Spread Mayonnaise: Spread the mayonnaise generously over one side of each slice of bread, ensuring even coverage to help achieve a golden crust during cooking.
  2. Heat Skillet: Heat a skillet over medium heat to prepare for grilling the sandwich.
  3. Assemble Sandwich: Place a slice of bread, mayonnaise side down, onto the hot skillet. Then sprinkle half a cup of shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the bread, even if some cheese touches the skillet.
