- 1/2 cup strawberry puree (from fresh or frozen strawberries)
- 1 cup finely chopped strawberries
- Pink or red food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 8-inch round cake pans and line with parchment paper.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in sour cream, milk, vanilla extract, and strawberry puree.
- Combine Mixtures: Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Fold in chopped strawberries and food coloring.
- Bake: Divide batter between pans and bake for 30–35 minutes. Cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
