Ingredients
Scale
For the Bread Ring
- 20 Rhodes frozen rolls
- Melted butter for brushing
For the Spinach Artichoke Dip Filling
- 8-9 oz frozen chopped spinach, thawed and well drained
- 14 oz artichokes (from a jar or can), well drained and chopped
- 8 oz cream cheese, room temperature
- 1/3 cup sour cream
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 1 1/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 2 tsp minced garlic (or 1/2 tsp garlic powder)
- 1/2 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Prepare pans: Generously coat two 9-inch round pans with melted butter or nonstick cooking spray. Place a 6-inch bowl upside down in the center of each pan to create a ring shape for the bread.
- Let rolls rise: Arrange ten frozen rolls evenly around each bowl in the pans. Lightly spritz the rolls with cooking spray, then loosely cover each pan with plastic wrap and drape a towel over the pans. Let the rolls rise in a warm spot until doubled in size, about 2 to 3 hours.
- Prepare spinach and artichokes: After thawing, make sure to squeeze out any excess water from the spinach. Drain the artichokes well and chop them. Set aside ready for the dip mixture.
- Make the dip: In a large bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, salt, black pepper, garlic, dried basil, and red pepper flakes. Blend these ingredients thoroughly until smooth. Fold in the chopped spinach and artichokes. Keep the mixture refrigerated while the rolls rise.
- Preheat oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) so it’s fully heated when the bread ring is ready to bake.
- Fill the rolls: Once the rolls have risen and doubled in size, carefully remove the bowls from the center of each pan. Spoon half of the spinach artichoke dip mixture into the space where the bowl was, spreading it evenly inside the ring.
- Brush with butter: Brush the tops of each roll generously with melted butter to promote browning and add flavor during baking.
- Bake: Place the pans in the preheated oven and bake for 25 to 28 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve hot: Remove from the oven and serve the bread ring warm to enjoy the melty, cheesy dip surrounded by soft bread rolls.
Notes
- Ensure all frozen spinach is thoroughly drained to prevent soggy filling.
- For extra flavor, you can sprinkle additional parmesan or mozzarella cheese on top before baking.
- If short on time, a warm spot like an oven with the light on works well to help rolls rise.
- Serve with extra marinara sauce or ranch dressing for dipping if desired.
- Leftovers can be warmed in the oven or microwave for a quick snack.
