Description

Enjoy a tangy and unique twist on classic pizza with this Pickle Pizza recipe. Featuring a crisp thin-crust base topped with a creamy garlic-dill sauce, thinly sliced dill pickles, mozzarella, and parmesan cheese, this pizza combines savory and refreshing flavors perfect for a quick and easy meal.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Garlic Dill Sauce

  • 1 clove garlic, peeled and smashed
  • ¾ cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1-2 teaspoons water
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

For the Pizza

  • 1 package (13 ounces) thin-crust pizza dough, or homemade pizza dough
  • 2-3 dill pickles, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Garlic Dill Sauce: In a bowl, combine the smashed garlic, sour cream, mayonnaise, 1-2 teaspoons of water, kosher salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Mix well until smooth and creamy. Set aside to let flavors meld while preparing the pizza.
  2. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) to achieve a crispy thin crust for the pizza.
  3. Roll Out the Dough: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough to your desired thinness, approximately 12 inches in diameter. Transfer the dough carefully to a pizza stone or baking sheet.
  4. Assemble the Pizza: Spread an even layer of the prepared garlic dill sauce over the rolled-out dough, leaving a small border around the edges for the crust. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella evenly over the sauce, followed by the thinly sliced dill pickles. Finish by sprinkling the parmesan cheese on top.
  5. Bake the Pizza: Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and the crust is golden brown.
  6. Serve: Remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for a couple of minutes, then slice and serve warm. Enjoy the fusion of creamy, tangy, and cheesy flavors.

Notes

  • You can adjust the number of dill pickles depending on how tangy you want your pizza.
  • If you prefer, use homemade pizza dough or store-bought thin-crust dough.
  • Adding fresh dill or chives on top after baking can enhance the flavor.
  • For a crispier crust, bake the pizza on a preheated pizza stone.
