Ingredients
Scale
Burger Patties
- 1 ½ pounds ground beef (80/20)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (optional, for mixing into beef)
Vegetable Topping
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 4 ounces mushrooms, sliced
Assembly and Serving
- 4 slices provolone cheese
- 4 hamburger buns, toasted
- Mayonnaise or other desired condiments (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Patties: Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape each into a patty. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper. For extra flavor, you can mix in a splash of Worcestershire sauce before forming the patties.
- Sauté the Vegetables: Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions, green bell peppers, and mushrooms. Cook for 6–8 minutes, stirring occasionally until the vegetables are soft and caramelized.
- Cook the Burgers: Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Grill or pan-fry the burger patties for 4–5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
- Melt the Cheese: Just before the burgers are done cooking, place a slice of provolone cheese on each patty. Cover briefly to allow the cheese to melt perfectly.
- Toast the Buns: While the cheese melts, toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until lightly golden and warm.
- Assemble and Serve: Place each cheesesteak burger patty on a toasted bun. Top generously with the sautéed vegetables. Add mayonnaise or your preferred condiments if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
- For enhanced flavor, blend a splash of Worcestershire sauce into the ground beef before forming patties.
