  • 1 cup whole milk

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 1/2 cups boiling water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare baking dish: Pour 1/2 cup melted butter into a 9×13-inch baking dish, coating the bottom evenly.
  3. Make batter: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and milk until smooth. Pour over the melted butter in the baking dish without stirring.
  4. Prepare pecan mixture: In another bowl, combine corn syrup, brown sugar, 1/2 cup melted butter, vanilla extract, and eggs. Stir in chopped pecans. Spoon evenly over the batter without stirring.
  5. Add boiling water: Gently pour boiling water over the dish.
