Dough:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2–3 tablespoons fresh orange juice
- 1/2 teaspoon orange zest (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare the dough: Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Cream butter and sugars until fluffy. Beat in egg, orange juice, zest, and vanilla. Mix in dry ingredients until just combined.
- Bake: Scoop dough onto baking sheet, bake for 10–12 minutes until lightly golden. Cool on a wire rack.
- Make the glaze: Whisk powdered sugar, orange juice, and zest until smooth. Drizzle over cooled cookies.
Notes
- For extra citrus flavor, add more zest to dough or glaze.
