- 3 large egg yolks, beaten

- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

- 1 pre-baked 9-inch pie crust

Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, whisk together sugar, flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbling, about 10-12 minutes.
- Pour hot filling into pre-baked pie crust, smooth the top.
- Top with whipped cream before serving, if desired.
Gradually stir in beaten egg yolks and milk until well combined.
Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract and butter until smooth.
Cool at room temperature for 30 minutes, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours until set.
