Spaghetti:

  • 1 pound spaghetti

Meat Sauce:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 (24 oz) jar marinara or spaghetti sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Cheese Mixture:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Additional:

  • 2 tablespoons butter, cut into small pieces

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the spaghetti until al dente, drain, and set aside.

  3. Cook the ground beef in a skillet until browned. Drain excess fat, then add marinara sauce, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Combine the cheeses in a mixing bowl until smooth.
  5. Layer half of the spaghetti in a greased baking dish. Spread the cheese mixture over it. Add the remaining spaghetti, then pour the meat sauce over everything.
  6. Top with mozzarella, Parmesan, and butter. Bake covered for 30 minutes, then uncovered for an additional 10–15 minutes until bubbly and golden. Let rest before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute cottage cheese for ricotta if preferred.
  • This casserole can be assembled ahead and refrigerated overnight before baking.
