Ingredients
Scale
Cheese Dip:
- 1 pound white American cheese (cubed or shredded)
- ½ cup whole milk (plus more as needed)
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 (4 oz) can diced green chiles (drained)
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon onion powder
- 1–2 tablespoons diced pickled jalapeños (optional)
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Add the milk and warm gently, then gradually stir in the white American cheese.
- Stir continuously until the cheese is fully melted and smooth. Add the diced green chiles, garlic powder, onion powder, and pickled jalapeños if using.
- Continue stirring until everything is well incorporated and heated through. If the dip is too thick, stir in an additional tablespoon of milk at a time until desired consistency is reached.
- Serve warm with tortilla chips.
Notes
- White American cheese melts best for that smooth, restaurant-style texture.
- You can substitute with a blend of Monterey Jack and mozzarella, but the texture may vary.
- Keep warm in a slow cooker on low for parties.
