For the Pizza Bowls:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 pound Italian sausage or ground beef
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup chopped bell pepper
- 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 cup low-carb marinara or pizza sauce
- 1/2 cup sliced black olives (optional)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 12–15 pepperoni slices
- chopped fresh basil or parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Cook the meat and veggies: In a skillet, cook the olive oil, sausage or ground beef, onion, and bell pepper until browned. Add mushrooms, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes.
- Add sauce and assemble: Stir in marinara sauce and olives. Divide mixture into ramekins. Top with cheeses and pepperoni.
- Bake: Bake for 10-12 minutes until cheese melts. Broil for a golden top.
- Garnish and serve: Garnish with fresh herbs and serve hot.
