Scale
Cookies:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Toppings:
- 12 large marshmallows, cut in half
- 1/2 cup milk chocolate pieces or bars, broken into squares
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Prepare the dough: In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Add the egg and vanilla, mixing until smooth. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk, until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Bake the cookies: Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the baking sheets, spacing them apart. Bake for 8 to 9 minutes. Press a marshmallow half into the center of each cookie, then return to the oven for 2 minutes. Top each marshmallow with a piece of milk chocolate.
- Cool and serve: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- For extra decadence, drizzle melted chocolate over the cooled cookies.
