Description
Create delightful homemade Reese’s Valentine’s hearts with rich chocolate and creamy peanut butter layers. This easy no-bake recipe uses simple ingredients and silicone molds to craft perfect heart-shaped treats, ideal for gifting or celebrating Valentine’s Day.
Ingredients
Scale
Chocolate Layer
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil
Peanut Butter Filling
- 2/3 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Melt Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips and coconut oil. Heat in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring thoroughly after each until the mixture is completely smooth and melted.
- Prepare Molds: Lightly grease silicone heart-shaped molds with a thin layer of oil or non-stick spray to ensure easy release of the chocolates after freezing.
- Create Chocolate Shells: Pour the melted chocolate mixture into each heart mold, spreading evenly to cover the bottom and sides. Place molds in the freezer for 10 minutes to allow the chocolate shells to set firmly.
- Mix Peanut Butter Filling: In a separate bowl, combine the creamy peanut butter with powdered sugar. Mix thoroughly until smooth and evenly blended.
- Fill Chocolate Shells: Remove the molds from the freezer and spoon the peanut butter mixture carefully into each hardened chocolate shell, filling them almost to the top.
- Top with Chocolate: Pour remaining melted chocolate over the peanut butter filling to fully cover and seal each heart. Return molds to the freezer and chill for an additional 10 to 15 minutes until completely set.
Notes
- Use silicone molds for easy removal and to maintain the heart shapes.
- Ensure chocolate is fully melted and smooth to avoid lumps in your shell.
- You can substitute creamy peanut butter with natural peanut butter for a healthier option but it may affect the texture slightly.
- Store finished candies in an airtight container in the refrigerator to keep them firm.
- For a more intense flavor, you can add a pinch of salt to the peanut butter mixture.
