Filling:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
Cream Cheese Icing:
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1–2 tablespoons milk (as needed for consistency)
Instructions
- Dough: In a large bowl or stand mixer, dissolve the yeast in warm milk. Add sugar, melted butter, salt, eggs, and flour. Knead until smooth. Let rise for 1 hour.
- Rolling: Roll out dough into a rectangle. Spread softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Roll tightly, cut into slices, shape into hearts.
- Rising and Baking: Let the rolls rise for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20–25 minutes.
- Icing: Beat together cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla. Frost warm rolls.
Notes
- To make ahead, shape the rolls and refrigerate overnight. Bring to room temperature and allow to rise before baking.
