Instructions
- Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add Egg and Vanilla: Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.
- Form Dough: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Chill Dough: Divide the dough in half, shape into discs, wrap in plastic wrap, and chill for at least 1 hour.
- Roll and Cut: Preheat the oven to 350°F. Roll out one disc of dough, cut out heart-shaped cookies, and bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
- Assemble Cookies: Spread jam on whole cookies, top with window cookies, and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
