Ingredients
Scale
Batter
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Filling and Topping
- 1/2 cup chocolate hazelnut spread or melted chocolate
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the batter: In a bowl, whisk together the flour, eggs, milk, water, melted butter, sugar, and salt until the mixture is smooth and free of lumps.
- Heat the pan: Warm a lightly oiled non-stick skillet over medium heat to ensure the crêpes cook evenly and do not stick.
- Cook the crêpes: Pour about 1/4 cup of batter into the skillet, tilting and swirling the pan to coat the bottom evenly with a thin layer of batter.
- Flip the crêpe: Cook for 1-2 minutes until the edges begin to lift and the bottom is lightly golden, then flip and cook the second side for 30 seconds.
- Add chocolate filling: Remove the crêpe from the pan and spread a thin, even layer of chocolate hazelnut spread or melted chocolate over its surface.
- Roll the crêpe: Roll the filled crêpe tightly and place it on a serving plate.
- Repeat cooking process: Continue cooking and filling with the remaining batter and chocolate spread until all crêpes are prepared.
- Serve: Optionally dust the rolled crêpes with powdered sugar for a finishing touch and serve warm to enjoy the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- For a dairy-free version, substitute milk with almond or oat milk and use dairy-free chocolate spread.
- If you prefer thinner or thicker crêpes, adjust the amount of batter poured into the skillet accordingly.
- Crêpes can be made ahead, stored in the refrigerator, and gently reheated before serving.
- Try adding fresh fruits or nuts inside the crêpes for added texture and flavor.
- Use a non-stick skillet to prevent sticking and to ensure easy flipping.
