Description

Delight in succulent grilled lobster tails enhanced by a fragrant garlic lemon butter sauce. This quick and easy recipe yields perfectly cooked lobster with a rich, tangy sauce that elevates the natural sweetness of the seafood, perfect for an impressive yet simple gourmet meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Lobster Tails

  • 4 lobster tails (about 4-6 oz each)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Lemon wedges, for serving (optional)

Garlic Lemon Butter Sauce

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Lobster Tails: Using kitchen shears, cut down the center of the lobster tail shell lengthwise without removing the meat. This helps the lobster cook evenly and allows the flavors to penetrate.
  2. Season the Lobster: Drizzle the lobster tails with olive oil and generously season with salt and pepper to enhance their natural flavor.
  3. Preheat the Grill: Set your grill to medium-high heat, approximately 400°F (200°C). Make sure the grill grates are cleaned and lightly oiled to prevent sticking during cooking.
  4. Grill the Lobster: Place the lobster tails shell-side down on the grill. Cook for 5-6 minutes, then flip them over to cook the meat side for another 3-4 minutes until the lobster meat turns opaque and reaches an internal temperature of 140°F (60°C).
  5. Make the Garlic Lemon Butter Sauce: While the lobster is grilling, melt unsalted butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, then stir in lemon juice, lemon zest, and crushed red pepper flakes if using. Remove from the heat and mix in chopped fresh parsley.
  6. Serve: Once cooked, drizzle the lobster tails generously with the garlic lemon butter sauce. Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side for an extra citrusy kick.

Notes

  • Do not overcook lobster as it can become tough; use a meat thermometer for accuracy.
  • If you don’t have a grill, you can broil the lobster tails in the oven for similar results.
  • Crushed red pepper flakes are optional for added heat; omit if preferred mild flavors.
  • Fresh parsley adds a nice fresh herbal note but can be omitted or substituted with chives or basil.
  • Lemon wedges are optional but recommended for added brightness when serving.
