Ingredients
Bread:
8 slices soft white bread (crusts removed)
Filling:
4 ounces cream cheese (softened), 1/2 cup strawberry jam or Nutella
Egg Mixture:
2 large eggs, 1/4 cup milk, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Cinnamon-Sugar Coating:
2 tablespoons granulated sugar, a pinch of cinnamon
For Frying:
2 tablespoons butter
Serving:
Powdered sugar and maple syrup
Instructions
- Prepare Bread: Flatten each slice of bread with a rolling pin. Spread cream cheese and jam or Nutella on one side of each slice. Roll up tightly.
- Prepare Egg Mixture: In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon.
- Coat Roll-Ups: Dip each roll-up in the egg mixture, then fry in butter until golden brown.
- Coat with Cinnamon Sugar: Immediately roll in the cinnamon-sugar mixture or dust with powdered sugar.
- Serve: Warm with maple syrup.
