Ingredients
Scale
Steak & Potato Mixture
- 1 lb sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 lb baby potatoes, halved
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Garnish
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to ensure it’s at the perfect temperature for baking the foil packs.
- Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the cubed sirloin steak, halved baby potatoes, olive oil, minced garlic, smoked paprika, dried thyme, dried rosemary, salt, and black pepper. Toss everything together until all pieces are evenly coated with the seasonings and oil.
- Prepare Foil Packs: Cut four large pieces of aluminum foil, each about 12 inches long. Evenly distribute the steak and potato mixture onto the center of each foil sheet.
- Seal Foil Packs: Fold the foil over the mixture and seal the edges tightly to create secure packets that will steam and cook the ingredients inside.
- Bake: Place the sealed foil packs on a baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the baby potatoes are tender and the steak is cooked to your desired level of doneness.
- Serve: Carefully open the foil packs to avoid steam burns. Optionally, sprinkle with chopped parsley for a fresh garnish and serve immediately.
Notes
- Choose potatoes of uniform size to ensure even cooking.
- For more tender steak, marinate the meat with the seasoning and oil for 30 minutes prior to assembling the foil packs.
- Adjust cooking time depending on your preferred steak doneness and onion size.
- You can substitute baby potatoes with fingerling or small red potatoes.
- Make sure to seal the foil tightly to trap steam and keep the ingredients moist.
