Ingredients
Scale
Fruits
- 1 cup strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 cup pineapple chunks
- 1 cup seedless grapes, halved
- 1 cup blueberries
- 2 kiwis, peeled and sliced
Additional Flavorings
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
- 1 tablespoon fresh lime or lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons fresh mint leaves, finely chopped
Instructions
- Prepare the Fruit: Wash all the fruit thoroughly. Hull and slice the strawberries, peel and slice the kiwis, halve the grapes, and prepare the pineapple chunks and blueberries as needed. Place all the prepared fruit into a large mixing bowl.
- Add Sweetener and Citrus: Drizzle honey or maple syrup over the fruit if you prefer a bit of sweetness. Pour the fresh lime or lemon juice on top to add brightness and balance the flavors.
- Toss the Salad: Gently toss the fruit mixture with your hands or a large spoon to ensure all pieces are evenly coated with the sweetener and citrus juice.
- Add Fresh Mint: Sprinkle the finely chopped fresh mint leaves over the salad, then lightly toss once more to distribute the mint without bruising the fruit.
- Chill and Serve: For best flavor, refrigerate the fruit salad for 15 to 20 minutes before serving. Alternatively, serve immediately to enjoy the fresh, vibrant flavors.
Notes
- Use seasonal fruits for the best taste and texture.
- Add the mint just before serving if preparing ahead to keep it fresh and vibrant.
- This salad is also delicious with a splash of orange juice instead of lime or lemon juice.
