Ingredients
Scale
Ingredients
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4–5 lemons)
- 1/2 cup sugar (or to taste)
- 2 cups ice cubes
- 1 cup cold water or lemon soda (like Sprite or 7Up for extra fizz)
- Optional: 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest for extra citrus flavor
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: In a blender, add the freshly squeezed lemon juice, sugar, ice cubes, and cold water or lemon soda. Include the optional lemon zest if you want an added citrus kick.
- Blend to Slush: Blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth and has a slushy consistency. If the mixture is too thick, add a little more cold water or soda and blend again to reach the desired texture.
- Adjust Sweetness: Taste the slush and adjust the sweetness by adding more sugar if necessary. Blend again briefly to distribute the sugar evenly.
- Serve Immediately: Pour the frozen lemonade slush into glasses. Serve right away with a straw or spoon, and garnish with a lemon slice or a sprig of mint if desired for an extra touch.
Notes
- You can substitute some or all of the cold water with lemon soda to add carbonation and extra sweetness.
- Adjust the sugar quantity according to your taste and the tartness of your lemons.
- For a more intense lemon flavor, include the lemon zest additionally.
- This drink is best enjoyed immediately to maintain its icy texture.
- Use fresh lemons for optimal flavor rather than bottled lemon juice.
