Description

These Fried Goat Cheese Balls with Spicy Sage Honey are the perfect appetizer for any occasion. Crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, and drizzled with a sweet and spicy honey, they are a crowd-pleaser that will disappear fast.

Ingredients

Scale

Cheese Balls:

  • 8 oz goat cheese (softened)
  • 2 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs (beaten)
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Pinch of salt

Spicy Sage Honey:

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 4–5 fresh sage leaves (finely chopped or whole for garnish)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Cheese Balls: In a bowl, mix goat cheese and cream cheese until smooth. Form 1-inch balls, coat in flour, egg, and panko. Fry in oil until golden.
  2. Spicy Sage Honey: Heat honey, add red pepper flakes, sage, and salt. Drizzle over cheese balls.

Notes

  • You can prep and freeze the cheese balls ahead of time, then fry straight from frozen.
  • The sage honey also works beautifully drizzled over roasted vegetables or biscuits.
