Description

A hearty and flavorful one-pot meal, French Onion Beef and Noodles combines tender beef with savory French onion soup, creamy mushroom soup, and egg noodles for a comforting dish that is perfect for a cozy dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

    Beef:

  • 1 lb beef sirloin or stew meat (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Onion Mixture:

  • 1 large yellow onion (thinly sliced)
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can French onion soup
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Others:

  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Brown the Beef: In a large skillet or Dutch oven, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Season beef with salt and pepper, then brown on all sides. Set beef aside.
  2. Cook the Onions: In the same skillet, cook sliced onions over medium heat until soft and golden, about 5–7 minutes.
  3. Combine Ingredients: Add French onion soup, cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce. Return beef to the skillet and simmer.
  4. Cook Noodles: Meanwhile, cook egg noodles according to package instructions, then drain.
  5. Finish Dish: Add noodles to the skillet, coat with sauce, and serve hot. Garnish with parsley if desired.

Notes

  • For extra richness, stir in 1/4 cup sour cream at the end before serving.
  • This dish can be made ahead and reheated—just add a splash of broth if it thickens too much.
