Custard:

  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

Additional:

  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat to 375°F (190°C). Roll out pie crust and blind bake for 10 minutes.
  2. Sauté apples: Sauté apple slices with butter and cinnamon until softened.
  3. Prepare custard: Heat milk and cream, then mix with egg, sugar, cornstarch, flour, salt, and vanilla. Cook until thickened.
  4. Assemble and bake: Spread apples on crust, pour custard over apples, and bake for 35–40 minutes.
