Description

These Decadent Cheesecake Croissant Buns are a delightful fusion of a flaky croissant and a creamy cheesecake, creating a treat that is perfect for breakfast or dessert. With a luscious cream cheese filling wrapped in buttery crescent roll dough, these buns are a heavenly indulgence that will satisfy your sweet cravings.

Ingredients

Scale

Cheesecake Filling:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest (optional)

Croissant Buns:

  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough (8 count)
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the filling: In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, egg yolk, and lemon zest until smooth and creamy.
  3. Assemble the buns: Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into 8 triangles. Roll each triangle into a spiral, tucking the point underneath. Flatten slightly and create a well in the center.
  4. Add the filling: Spoon cheesecake filling into each well.
  5. Bake: Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Make the glaze: Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla for the glaze.
  7. Finish: Drizzle the glaze over the buns and serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Add a spoonful of fruit jam on top of the cheesecake filling before baking for a fruity twist.
  • Best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheated slightly before serving.
