Description

These creamy pickle roll ups are a delicious and easy appetizer featuring a tangy cream cheese and dill pickle filling rolled inside buttery crescent roll dough and baked to golden perfection. Perfect for game days, parties, or a flavorful snack, these roll ups combine classic ranch seasoning with dill pickle relish for a savory treat that everyone will love.

Ingredients

Scale

Filling

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tablespoon ranch seasoning mix
  • 1/4 cup dill pickle relish (or finely chopped dill pickles)

Dough

  • 1 sheet crescent roll dough (or equivalent rolls pressed to seal perforations)

Topping

  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill (or 1 teaspoon dried dill)

Instructions

  1. Make the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, ranch seasoning, and dill pickle relish. Stir together thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
  2. Prepare the Dough: Roll out the crescent dough into a single sheet. If using crescent rolls, press the perforations firmly to seal them, creating a full sheet of dough without separations.
  3. Assemble: Evenly spread the cream cheese mixture over the dough sheet. Starting from one edge, roll the dough tightly into a log shape. Slice the log into 1-inch thick rounds to form individual roll ups.
  4. Add Dill Butter: Mix the melted butter with fresh chopped dill or dried dill. Brush this flavorful dill butter generously over the tops of each sliced roll up to enhance flavor and browning.
  5. Bake: Arrange the roll ups on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 20 to 22 minutes until the rolls are puffed and golden brown on top.
  6. Serve: Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly. Serve warm, optionally with ranch dressing on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • Pressing the perforations in crescent roll dough helps prevent the filling from leaking during baking.
  • Use fresh dill for a brighter flavor, but dried dill is a convenient substitute.
  • If you prefer spicy, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or chili flakes to the cream cheese mixture.
  • These roll ups are best served warm but can be reheated gently in the oven.
  • For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free crescent dough if available.
