Filling:
- 6 cups fresh or frozen sliced peaches (peeled if fresh)
- 1 cup granulated sugar (divided)
- ½ cup light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
Topping:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1½ teaspoons baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter (1 stick), melted
- ¾ cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Pour melted butter into a baking dish.
- Whisk together flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add milk and vanilla. Pour batter over butter.
- Spoon peach mixture over batter. Bake until golden.
- Cool slightly before serving.
In a saucepan, combine peaches, ½ cup granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Cook until thickened. Remove from heat.
