Description

This Chocolate Peppermint Lasagna is a festive no-bake dessert perfect for the holidays. Layers of crushed chocolate sandwich cookies, creamy sweetened cream cheese, rich chocolate pudding, and peppermint whipped topping come together to create a delightful treat topped with mini chocolate chips and crushed peppermint candies. Lightly sweet, minty, and chocolaty, it’s an easy-to-make crowd-pleaser that requires no oven time and only minimal prep.

Ingredients

Scale

Crust

  • 36 chocolate sandwich cookies, crushed
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Cream Cheese Layer

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 4 ounces (half) whipped topping, thawed

Chocolate Pudding Layer

  • 3.9-ounce box instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk

Peppermint Whipped Topping Layer

  • 4 ounces (remaining half) whipped topping, thawed
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1/2 cup crushed peppermint candies, plus extra for topping
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust: In a medium bowl, mix the crushed chocolate sandwich cookies with melted butter until the crumbs are evenly moistened. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9×13-inch dish to form an even crust layer.
  2. Make the cream cheese layer: In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and 2 tablespoons of milk until you get a smooth, creamy mixture. Gently fold in half of the whipped topping until combined, then spread this layer evenly over the cookie crust.
  3. Prepare the pudding layer: In another bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and 2 cups of cold milk for about 2 minutes until the pudding thickens. Spread this thickened pudding layer over the cream cheese layer.
  4. Create the peppermint topping: In a clean bowl, combine the remaining whipped topping with peppermint extract and crushed peppermint candies. Gently spread this peppermint-infused whipped topping over the pudding layer.
  5. Garnish and chill: Sprinkle the top with mini chocolate chips and additional crushed peppermint candies for extra festive flair. Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until the layers are fully set and firm.

Notes

  • For a stronger peppermint flavor, increase the peppermint extract to 3/4 teaspoon.
  • This dessert can be made a day in advance and kept refrigerated for the best texture and flavor melding.
