Chocolate Mousse Filling:
- 1½ cups heavy whipping cream
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ cup powdered sugar
Topping (optional):
- Chocolate shavings or whipped cream
Instructions
- Melt Chocolate: In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the chocolate chips and butter together, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Set aside to cool slightly.
- Whip Cream: In a large bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Combine: Once the chocolate mixture has cooled, fold it into the whipped cream in batches until smooth.
- Fill Pie Crust: Spoon the mousse mixture into the prepared pie crust and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Chill: Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours until set.
