  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder

For the Mousse Layer:

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Optional Topping:

  • Shaved chocolate or cocoa powder for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare Brownie Layer: Melt butter, add sugar, eggs, vanilla, cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Bake for 20-22 minutes.
  3. Make Mousse Layer: Melt chocolate chips, beat cream with sugar and vanilla, fold in melted chocolate. Spread over cooled brownie layer.
  4. Chill and Serve: Refrigerate for at least 2 hours. Garnish with shaved chocolate or cocoa powder before serving.
