Description

This Chicken in Boursin Garlic Herb Cream Sauce recipe features tender, juicy chicken breasts cooked to golden perfection and served in a rich, creamy sauce infused with flavorful Boursin Garlic & Herb cheese, garlic, and chicken broth. Ready in just 30 minutes, it is an easy yet elegant meal perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken & Seasoning

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 package (5.2 oz) Boursin Garlic & Herb cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season Chicken: Season the chicken breasts evenly with salt and pepper on both sides to enhance flavor.
  2. Cook Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken breasts and cook for 5-7 minutes per side until they are golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Sauté Garlic: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  4. Deglaze Pan: Pour in the chicken broth and use a spatula to scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan, which adds great flavor to the sauce.
  5. Make Sauce: Reduce the heat to medium-low. Stir in the heavy cream and Boursin Garlic & Herb cheese, stirring continuously until the cheese melts completely and the sauce becomes smooth.
  6. Simmer Chicken in Sauce: Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet, spoon the sauce over them, and simmer for 3-5 minutes to warm the chicken through and allow the flavors to meld.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle freshly chopped parsley over the top for a fresh herbal note and serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can use boneless skinless chicken thighs instead of breasts for a juicier texture.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, let it simmer a few extra minutes before adding the chicken back.
  • Serve this dish with steamed vegetables, rice, or mashed potatoes for a complete meal.
  • Boursin Cheese can sometimes be found in specialty cheese aisles or gourmet sections of supermarkets.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 3 days.
