Ingredients
Scale
Chicken & Seasoning
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Sauce
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 package (5.2 oz) Boursin Garlic & Herb cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Season Chicken: Season the chicken breasts evenly with salt and pepper on both sides to enhance flavor.
- Cook Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken breasts and cook for 5-7 minutes per side until they are golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- Sauté Garlic: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Deglaze Pan: Pour in the chicken broth and use a spatula to scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan, which adds great flavor to the sauce.
- Make Sauce: Reduce the heat to medium-low. Stir in the heavy cream and Boursin Garlic & Herb cheese, stirring continuously until the cheese melts completely and the sauce becomes smooth.
- Simmer Chicken in Sauce: Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet, spoon the sauce over them, and simmer for 3-5 minutes to warm the chicken through and allow the flavors to meld.
- Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle freshly chopped parsley over the top for a fresh herbal note and serve immediately.
Notes
- You can use boneless skinless chicken thighs instead of breasts for a juicier texture.
- If you prefer a thicker sauce, let it simmer a few extra minutes before adding the chicken back.
- Serve this dish with steamed vegetables, rice, or mashed potatoes for a complete meal.
- Boursin Cheese can sometimes be found in specialty cheese aisles or gourmet sections of supermarkets.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 3 days.
