Description

This Chicken Cheesesteak Skillet is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that combines tender chicken with colorful bell peppers, onions, and gooey melted provolone cheese. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken:

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

For the Vegetables:

  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 small yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Seasonings and Cheese:

  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • 4 slices provolone cheese or 1 cup shredded provolone

Garnish:

  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the sliced chicken for 5–6 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  2. Sauté Vegetables: In the same skillet, cook the bell peppers and onion for 6–8 minutes until softened. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Combine and Melt Cheese: Return chicken to the skillet, add Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and smoked paprika. Top with provolone cheese, cover, and cook for 2–3 minutes until melted.
  4. Garnish and Serve: Garnish with parsley and serve hot. Enjoy on hoagie rolls, rice, or cauliflower rice.

Notes

  • Serve on hoagie rolls for a classic sandwich-style meal or over rice or cauliflower rice for a low-carb option.
  • Rotisserie chicken can be used for quicker preparation.
