Instructions
- Preheat oven and prepare baking sheets: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Prepare dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
- Cream butter and sugars: In a large mixing bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy, about 2 minutes.
- Combine wet ingredients: Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each, then mix in vanilla.
- Mix dry and wet ingredients: Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Stir in chocolate chips.
- Bake: Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing about 2 inches apart. Bake for 9–11 minutes, or until edges are golden but centers are still soft.
- Cool: Let cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
- For extra chewy cookies, chill dough for at least 1 hour before baking.
