Description

This Cheesy Garlic Pull-Apart Bread is a delicious and indulgent appetizer featuring a crusty sourdough loaf loaded with a blend of mozzarella, cheddar, and Parmesan cheeses, all infused with garlic butter and fresh parsley. Perfect for parties, pasta nights, or as a warm and flavorful snack, this easy-to-make bread bursts with cheesy goodness and crispy golden edges.

Ingredients

Scale

Bread

  • 1 large round sourdough or crusty bread loaf

Garlic Butter Mixture

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Cheeses

  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking.
  2. Slice the Bread: Place the bread loaf on a cutting board and, using a serrated knife, carefully slice it in a crosshatch pattern, cutting almost to the bottom but not all the way through, creating 1-inch squares.
  3. Mix Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper to create the flavorful garlic butter mixture.
  4. Apply Garlic Butter: Gently pull apart the bread pieces and spoon or brush the garlic butter mixture evenly into all the cracks and crevices within the loaf.
  5. Stuff with Cheese: Evenly stuff the shredded mozzarella, cheddar, and grated Parmesan cheeses into the cuts and openings you created in the bread.
  6. Bake Covered: Wrap the entire loaf tightly in foil and place it on a baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes to allow the cheese to melt inside.
  7. Bake Uncovered: Remove the foil from the top of the bread and continue baking for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is melted thoroughly and the top turns golden and crispy.
  8. Serve Warm: Remove from the oven and serve the cheesy garlic pull-apart bread warm for the best texture and flavor experience.

Notes

  • For an extra kick of flavor, add a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes or some chopped green onions to the garlic butter mixture.
  • This bread pairs wonderfully with pasta dishes, creamy soups, or as a tasty appetizer for gatherings and parties.
