Ingredients
Scale
Bread
- 1 large round sourdough or crusty bread loaf
Garlic Butter Mixture
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Cheeses
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking.
- Slice the Bread: Place the bread loaf on a cutting board and, using a serrated knife, carefully slice it in a crosshatch pattern, cutting almost to the bottom but not all the way through, creating 1-inch squares.
- Mix Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper to create the flavorful garlic butter mixture.
- Apply Garlic Butter: Gently pull apart the bread pieces and spoon or brush the garlic butter mixture evenly into all the cracks and crevices within the loaf.
- Stuff with Cheese: Evenly stuff the shredded mozzarella, cheddar, and grated Parmesan cheeses into the cuts and openings you created in the bread.
- Bake Covered: Wrap the entire loaf tightly in foil and place it on a baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes to allow the cheese to melt inside.
- Bake Uncovered: Remove the foil from the top of the bread and continue baking for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is melted thoroughly and the top turns golden and crispy.
- Serve Warm: Remove from the oven and serve the cheesy garlic pull-apart bread warm for the best texture and flavor experience.
Notes
- For an extra kick of flavor, add a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes or some chopped green onions to the garlic butter mixture.
- This bread pairs wonderfully with pasta dishes, creamy soups, or as a tasty appetizer for gatherings and parties.
