Description

These Cheesy Beef Burritos with Fries are a Tex-Mex delight, combining flavorful seasoned beef, gooey cheeses, crispy fries, and creamy toppings all wrapped in a warm tortilla. Perfect for a satisfying family dinner!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Beef:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For Assembly:

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup salsa
  • 4 large flour tortillas (burrito size)
  • 1 bag (16 oz) frozen French fries
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (for fries)
  • Chopped cilantro and sliced jalapeños for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Fries: Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Spread frozen fries on a baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil, and bake for 25–30 minutes or until golden and crispy.
  2. Cook the Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with onion and garlic until browned. Drain excess fat. Season with chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for 2 more minutes.
  3. Assemble the Burritos: Warm tortillas, layer with beef, fries, cheeses, sour cream, and salsa. Roll up burrito-style, tucking in the sides. Grill in a skillet for a toasted finish.
  4. Serve: Garnish with cilantro or jalapeños and enjoy warm!

Notes

  • You can swap out the ground beef for ground turkey or a plant-based alternative.
  • For extra kick, add hot sauce or pickled jalapeños inside the burritos.
