Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients:
- 1 (6 oz) package Cheddar Bay biscuit mix (plus seasoning packet)
- 1/3 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
- 1/2 pound lump crab meat (picked over for shells)
- 2 tablespoons butter (for pan-frying)
For the Lemon Butter Drizzle:
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the biscuit mix (reserving the seasoning packet), milk, and cheddar cheese. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Old Bay seasoning, garlic powder, black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and parsley. Add the wet ingredients to the biscuit mixture and stir to combine.
- Gently fold in the crab meat, being careful not to break it up too much. Shape the mixture into 6 equal patties.
- Heat the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the crab cakes and cook for 4–5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- To make the lemon butter drizzle, whisk together the melted butter, lemon juice, garlic powder, and parsley in a small bowl.
- Drizzle the lemon butter over the warm crab cakes before serving.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, chill the formed patties for 15–20 minutes before pan-frying.
- Serve with a side salad or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
