Description

Delicious and easy Bang Bang Chicken Skewers featuring tender grilled chicken pieces coated in a creamy, spicy sweet chili sauce, perfect for a flavorful appetizer or main course with a touch of Asian-inspired American fusion.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken Skewers

  • 1 ½ pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • Wooden skewers (soaked in water for 30 minutes if grilling)

Bang Bang Sauce

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Grill and Chicken: Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. In a large bowl, toss the chicken pieces with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until they are evenly coated with the seasonings.
  2. Thread Chicken onto Skewers: Thread the seasoned chicken pieces evenly onto the soaked wooden skewers, ensuring an even distribution for uniform cooking.
  3. Grill the Skewers: Place the skewers on the grill and cook for 10–12 minutes, turning occasionally to ensure all sides are cooked through and nicely charred with grill marks.
  4. Make the Bang Bang Sauce: While the chicken cooks, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, and lime juice in a small bowl until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  5. Serve: Once grilled, brush or drizzle the Bang Bang sauce generously over the chicken skewers or serve the sauce on the side for dipping. Optionally, garnish with chopped green onions or sesame seeds for extra flavor and presentation.

Notes

  • You can bake the skewers at 400°F for 20–22 minutes as an alternative to grilling.
  • The Bang Bang sauce doubles as a delicious dip for vegetables or shrimp.
  • For a lighter version, substitute some of the mayonnaise with Greek yogurt.
