Bagel:
- 2 bagels (halved)
Avocado Mash:
- 1 ripe avocado (mashed)
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Tuna Mixture:
- 1 (5 oz) can tuna in water (drained)
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
Additional Toppings:
- 4 slices tomato
- 4 slices cheddar or Swiss cheese
- Chopped fresh parsley or chives for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the broiler. In a small bowl, mash the avocado with lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. In another bowl, mix the drained tuna with mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper.
- Toast the bagels. Lightly toast the bagel halves under the broiler for 1–2 minutes until golden.
- Assemble the bagels. Spread mashed avocado on each half, top with tuna mixture, a slice of tomato, and a slice of cheese.
- Broil the bagels. Return to the broiler and heat for 2–3 minutes until cheese is melted. Garnish with parsley or chives.
- Serve. Enjoy warm!
Notes
- For added crunch, sprinkle with red onion slices or pickles before broiling.
- You can use whole wheat or everything bagels for extra flavor.
