Description

Indulge in the delicious flavors of fall with this Apple Fritter Bread. Moist and flavorful, this bread is packed with diced apples and a sweet cinnamon swirl, topped with a vanilla glaze for the perfect finishing touch.

Ingredients

Scale

Bread:

  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 medium apples, peeled and diced
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup whole milk

Glaze:

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1–2 teaspoons milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Mix cinnamon sugar: In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon; set aside.
  3. Prepare apples: Toss the diced apples with a spoonful of the cinnamon mixture in another bowl.
  4. Cream sugar and butter: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the granulated sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
  5. Add eggs and vanilla: Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  6. Mix dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and baking powder.
  7. Combine wet and dry ingredients: Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture alternately with the milk, starting and ending with the flour mixture.
  8. Layer batter and apples: Pour half of the batter into the loaf pan. Layer half of the apple mixture and cinnamon sugar over the batter. Repeat with remaining batter, apples, and cinnamon sugar. Swirl the top with a knife.
  9. Bake: Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Cool and glaze: Cool the bread in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Make the glaze by whisking together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla. Drizzle over the cooled bread.
