Description

This Angel Chicken Rice recipe is a comforting and creamy dish that is perfect for a satisfying meal. Tender chicken cooked in a flavorful creamy sauce served over angel hair pasta or rice.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 packet (1 oz) dry Italian dressing mix
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Creamy Sauce:

  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine (optional or substitute with more broth)

For Serving:

  • 8 oz angel hair pasta or white rice (cooked)
  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the Chicken: In a large skillet or sauté pan, melt butter over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Sear for 2–3 minutes per side until lightly browned but not fully cooked through.
  2. Prepare the Sauce: In a separate bowl, whisk together the cream cheese, cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, white wine (if using), and Italian dressing mix until smooth. Pour the mixture over the chicken in the skillet.
  3. Simmer: Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20–25 minutes until the chicken is tender and cooked through. Stir the sauce occasionally to prevent sticking.
  4. Serve: Serve the chicken and sauce over cooked angel hair pasta or rice, and garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use rotisserie chicken and reduce the cooking time.
  • You can also make this in a slow cooker by adding all ingredients and cooking on low for 4–5 hours.
