Main Marinade:
- 1.5 lbs pork shoulder or pork belly (cut into long strips about 1.5 inches thick)
- 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey (plus more for glazing)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon Chinese Shaoxing wine or dry sherry
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon five-spice powder
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1/2 teaspoon red food coloring (optional for traditional color)
Instructions
- Prepare Marinade: Whisk together hoisin sauce, honey, soy sauce, oyster sauce, Shaoxing wine, brown sugar, five-spice powder, garlic, and red food coloring. Marinate pork strips in the mixture for at least 8 hours.
- Air Fry: Preheat air fryer to 375°F. Place marinated pork in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 15 minutes, flipping halfway. Glaze with honey and air fry for an additional 3–5 minutes until caramelized.
- Rest and Serve: Let the pork rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve with rice or noodles.

- You can use boneless pork loin as a leaner alternative.
- Red food coloring is optional for traditional appearance.
