Description

These adorable carrot chocolate covered strawberries are a delightful and festive treat perfect for springtime or Easter celebrations. Fresh, juicy strawberries are dipped in vibrant orange chocolate and decorated with green icing to resemble cute little carrots. Easy to make and perfect for parties or gifting!

Ingredients

Scale

Strawberries

  • 2 lbs. fresh strawberries, rinsed and dried

Chocolate Coating

  • 1 (12 oz.) bag of orange chocolate melts (Wilton or preferred brand)

Decoration

  • Green candy melts or green icing (used in candy squeeze tube or zip-top bag for piping carrot tops)
  • Wax paper for setting

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Strawberries: Gently rinse the strawberries and thoroughly dry them with a paper towel to ensure there is no moisture on the surface, which helps the chocolate adhere better.
  2. Melt the Chocolate: Place the orange chocolate melts in a microwave-safe bowl and heat according to package instructions, stirring occasionally until the chocolate is fully melted, smooth, and creamy.
  3. Dip the Strawberries: Hold each strawberry by the green leaves and dip it completely into the melted orange chocolate, allowing any excess chocolate to drip off before placing it on wax paper.
  4. Shape the Carrot Tops: After the chocolate coating has begun to set but is still slightly tacky, use a candy squeeze tube or a zip-top bag with a small corner snip filled with green candy melts or icing to pipe leafy ‘carrot top’ details onto each strawberry.
  5. Let Them Set: Allow the decorated strawberries to harden at room temperature or place them in the refrigerator for 15-30 minutes to fully set the chocolate before serving or storing.

Notes

  • Make sure strawberries are completely dry before dipping to prevent chocolate from seizing.
  • If orange chocolate melts are not available, white chocolate can be colored with orange candy dye.
  • Store strawberries in a cool, dry place or refrigerated in a single layer to prevent sticking.
  • Use fresh ripe strawberries for the best flavor and appearance.
  • These treats are best enjoyed within 1-2 days for optimal freshness.
