Description

These adorable carrot-shaped chocolate covered strawberries are a fun and festive treat perfect for springtime or Easter celebrations. Fresh strawberries are dipped in vibrant orange chocolate and decorated with green chocolate “carrot tops” to create a playful and delicious snack that’s as visually appealing as it is tasty.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. fresh strawberries, rinsed and dried
  • 1 (12 oz.) bag orange chocolate melts (Wilton or preferred brand)
  • Wax paper
  • Candy squeeze tube or a zip-top bag with a small snip in the corner (for piping)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Strawberries: Gently rinse the strawberries under cool water and dry them thoroughly with paper towels to make sure no moisture remains, which can prevent the chocolate from adhering properly.
  2. Melt the Chocolate: Place the orange chocolate melts in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until the chocolate is smooth and creamy according to package directions.
  3. Dip the Strawberries: Hold each strawberry by the green leaves and dip it fully into the melted orange chocolate. Allow excess chocolate to drip off before placing the strawberry on wax paper.
  4. Shape the Carrot: Once the dipped strawberries have set slightly but the chocolate is still tacky, use a candy squeeze tube or the snipped corner of a zip-top bag to pipe green chocolate designs that resemble carrot tops onto each strawberry.
  5. Let Them Set: Allow the strawberries to sit at room temperature or place them in the refrigerator for 15 to 30 minutes until the chocolate hardens completely before serving.

Notes

  • Ensure strawberries are completely dry before dipping to prevent chocolate from seizing.
  • Use orange and green colored chocolate melts to achieve vibrant carrot colors.
  • Work quickly when piping the green chocolate tops to get a neat design.
  • The strawberries are best served the same day they are made for optimal freshness.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
